sarahintampa: Why I Ditched My Friends On Digg

But Sarah, that's what FF is for ;)

Agreed. I have developed Diggophobia just from the few friends I *did* get on Digg; I pretty much had nothing in common with them - except for the few journalists/tech bloggers and SM people I actually knew in real life. I don't go to Digg much anymore, except at friend's requests. Hope you post on the new recommendation engine as well - I guess I haven't been paying attention! Will watch for updates.

I hear you, Sarah. I had an account I created years ago for testing purposes and it still gets friended and I haven't used it in forever. But people on Digg are always looking to exploit those types of people.

To benefit from Digg, you actually need to create solid, meaningful relationships.

I tried Digg for a sec. I friended too many people for all the wrong reasons. I turned off email notifications and I just don't go around there anymore. I don't like being shouted at all the time...LOL.

I know I'm probably missing good stuff from some people, but I am too lazy to go deleting all those "friends"

You see I saw the headline I assumed you'd just used the upcoming articles section of Digg as a platform to tell your real-life buddies you hated them all.
  • sarahintampa · 1 year ago
Nope. I hope you actually read the post! :) That was not the case.

It'd be a pretty Nuclear way of doing it though.

I can relate, I'm about to pull my hair out with all the shouts! I'm slowing unfriending all the shout spammers......
